Chai Spiced Nut Nog

Chai Spiced Nut Nog

I’ve the idea to make a no-egg nog for a while now, and I’ve seen a few others floating around the internet, so I thought it was about time I made my own! But I didn’t want just any nut nog – so I decided on a Chai Spiced Nut Nog!

Chai Nut Nog

I thought I would flavour it with Chai spices, because I just love chai! No really – check out our Chai Spiced Pancakes and our Chai Spiced Nuts (another great one for Christmas!), and I have quite a few other chai spiced recipes up my sleeve! Watch this space!

Chai Nut Nog

I first fell in love with Chai years ago – I can’t exactly remember when, but I think it was before I went to India and had ‘real chai’. Chai actually just means tea in India – it’s just that they usually flavour it with lovely spices. I just love the spice combinations and the flavour is so nice! Much more interesting than a standard cup of english breakfast!

So, here in Australia we don’t really do the whole egg nog thing – well not that I know of anyway. I’ve never actually had a real one! So I hope this recipe will replicate a flavourful Christmassy Drink!

Chai Nut Nog

We used black salt in this drink! – That’s to give it an eggy kind of flavour. Black salt is amazing stuff – I put it on my meals now instead of normal or himalayan salt. I’m kind of obsessed! Josh used to hate it, but he’s a total convert now! haha. We still have a special deal going with The Salt Box where you can get 15% off salts in their range, and they sell black salt! Just use the code DELIGHT at checkout. Get on it people! You need this salt in your life! Some other recipes we have used with black salt include our Vegan Smoked Salmon Breakfast Bowl, our Vegan Palak Paneer and our Smoky Cheesy Vegan Mayo. Oh! And I almost forgot our Vegan Curried Egg Sandwiches!

This flavourful festive drink is a raw food recipe, for all you raw foodie enthusiasts out there! Please share this Chai Spiced Nut Nog with your raw foodie friends, and of course, your chai loving friends!
