This Gluten Free Pear and Choc Chip Loaf is incredible! Have you ever gotten sick of plain old banana bread? (Hmm, us neither! 🤣) but anyway, this is a great and different alternative. The pear adds a delicious sweetness and softness when you bite into it.
We bought a whole box of pears down the road for $4! If this was not a sign to make a recipe I am not sure what is! Now that we’re living in Melbourne it’s fantastic to be able to walk to the shops whenever you want something, and the fruit shop always has specials on boxes of fruit and veg awaiting us at the entrance – it’s earth shatteringly awesome.
We made this one gluten free using Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 flour, but you could use all purpose flour if you’re not gluten free and it will work just as well.
This is just such a perfect recipe to have as a morning or afternoon snack with a cup of tea! You could also try out our Gluten Free Apple and Cinnamon Muffins, or if you’re more of a cookie type, try out our Aunties Oat Choc Chip Cookies. You can find all of our numerous cookie recipes here.
Make this delicious Gluten Free Pear and Choc Chip Loaf as a great alternative to Banana Bread! You won't regret it - but it won't last long!
- 1 1/2 cups Bob's Reed Mill 1 to 1 gluten free flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/3 cup apple sauce
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/3 cup plant based milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pear peeled, cored and diced
- 1/4 cup vegan choc chips
Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon to a mixing bowl and mix well. In a separate bowl add the apple sauce, oil, milk and vanilla extract. Then mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well incorporated with no lumps. Add the pear and the choc chips and sitr through. If desired, add some pear slices on top of the loaf before baking and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean. Enjoy!
