Who used to love fish fingers when they were little? This is a plant based version of the old classic that you used to know and love. So we created these Vegan Fish Fingers out of tofu which taste even better!
We used our Air Fryer for this recipe – it’s such a handy thing to have. Don’t worry if you don’t have one though, because you can shallow fry these or bake them.
I have also used a vegan fish sauce to give it a more fishy flavour. I’ve added that to the chickpea brine. If you don’t have fish sauce, try a little combo of lime juice and tamari/soy sauce. That is a good subsitute for fish sauce.
If you know someone that would love this recipe, please share it with them! And if you make it, please let us know and share your pics with us 🙂
Remember that old classic from your Childhood? Well now you can make a plant based version with this delicious Vegan Fish Fingers Recipe.
- 230g hard tofu cut into strips
- 1/2 cup chickpea brine (aquafaba)
- 1 Tbsp vegan fish sauce
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup vegan breadcrumbs
- wedges of lemon to serve
- 3 Tbsp vegan mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp pickles finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp fresh dill finely chopped
- Generous pinch of salt and black pepper
Cut tofu into thin strips about 1/2cm thick. Then cut them in half lengthways to make fish finger like shapes.
Mix the vegan fish sauce in with the aquafaba.
Then dip each finger in the flour first to coat, then the aquafaba mixture and lastly coat in the breadcrumbs. Cook in the airfryer for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Alternatively you can bake them or shallow fry them.
Serve with a wedge of lemon or lime and some homemade tartare sauce.
Mix all ingredients into a small bowl and serve with the Tofu Fish Fingers.
