Whisk the batter ingredients to a smooth consistency.
Press the tofu to get all the juice out. Sometimes I skip this part and just squeeze as much water as I can without breaking the tofu. Cut into bite size pieces.
Fill a shallow fry pan about 1/4 full with oil (we used canola oil for this) and heat it up. Dip each tofu piece in the extra wholemeal flour and then dunk into the batter, then once the oil is hot, fry them for a few minutes on each side until golden brown. Drain on a paper towel. Mix the salt and pepper together and sprinkle over the tofu as desired. Serve hot! Enjoy!
