Servings: 2 people
Ingredients
  • 250g penne pasta
  • 1 cup rice milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 Tbsp savoury yeast
  • pinch of salt
  • generous sprinkling of white pepper
  • 2 Tbsp red onion
  • 1 tsp flour
  • 3 Tbsp hot water
  • 1 Tbsp toasted pinenuts (optional)
  • 1 Tbsp fresh coriander (optional)
Instructions
  1. Cook pasta according to instructions on the packet
  2. Drain and put back in the pot
  3. Add rice milk, water, savoury yeast, salt and white pepper. Stir for a few minutes
  4. Mix the 1 tsp of flour in 3 Tbsp of hot water in a seperate cup. Add to the pasta mixture. Stir for a few more minutes until it thickens up. If it is too thick, add more water or rice milk
  5. Add red onion for the last minute or two of cooking and then serve into bowls and top with toasted pine nuts and coriander if desired
