Marbled Chocolate Candy Cane Bark

This Marbled Chocolate Candy Cane Bark is easy to make and looks so pretty!!

Marbled Chocolate Candy Cane Bark

Like the recipe of the Candied walnuts I posted yesterday, this bark would be great as a decoration on cakes, cupcakes, cookies etc. Or, it’s just good on it’s own on the Christmas table.

To make this recipe, firstly melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over hot water. Then spread it on a baking tray lined with a baking sheet. Put it in the fridge and then repeat the process with the white chocolate. Then swirl around with the back of a spoon to get that marbled effect and top with crushed candy canes. Store it in the fridge until ready to eat!

Make sure you read the ingredients of the candy canes as some of them are not vegan, they usually contain a red colouring E120 or cochineal which is made out of crushed beetles. Yuk!

Anyway you can get so creative with this Christmas bark – you could add nuts, coconut, lollies, anything you want really! And you could use different types of chocolate too. I used Sweet William to make mine, as it’s readily available in shops and melts well!

Ingredients
  • 100g vegan dark chocolate
  • 100g vegan white chocolate
  • 2 vegan candy canes
Instructions
  1. In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate over boiling water. Once melted, pour onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and spread to form a large rectangle, at about 2mm thick. Place in the fridge while you melt the white chocolate. I cleaned and dried the bowl I used for the dark chocolate and then melted the white. I also chopped the candy canes finely while the chocolate was melting.

  2. Once the white chocolate has melted, get the other chocolate out of the fridge, and spoon the white chocolate on top until it is covered. With the back of the spoon make little swirly motions – as the white chocolate melts the dark chocolate underneath it, it will start to come through and look like a marbled effect.

  3. Once you've done this, then sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top, and set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes until set. Keep refrigerated until ready to eat.
