Have you ever of Butterfly Pea Flowers? They make the best colour iced tea!
The coolest thing about this iced tea is that it was vibrant blue colour before I added some lime juice, and then it changed to purple! It’s cool to watch it change right before your eyes.
We got the Butterfly Pea Flowers from My Blue Tea. You can check out their Instagram and their Website. They also sell Butterfly Pea powder, Pandan powder, kaffir lime and durian powders, and other things!
We added a tiny bit of sugar to this drink, heaps of ice, and lime juice – that’s all!
This is a refreshing drink, perfect for hot days. You could make up a batch and keep it in the fridge.

- 12 dried butterfly pea flowers
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- Lots of ice

Put the butterfly pea flowers in a large measuring cup with the sugar, and pour in 300mls of hot water. Let steep for 20 minutes and then add in 200mls of room temp water. Mix and then then remove the flowers. At this stage add the lime juice. You can store in the fridge here or serve over ice. We served ours in a 500ml (16oz) carafe.
