Papaya Steaks

Ingredients
  • 2 Tablespoons tamari
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 Tablespoons sherry or wine vinegar
  • pinch salt n pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon chinese five spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 Tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 1 Tablespoon rice malt syrup
  • pinch of chipotle powder
  • 1/2 papaya (about 600g)
Instructions
  1. Mix all of the ingredients except papaya in a bowl or a container until mixed well. When it is all mixed, peel and cut the papaya into 'steaks', then marinate them in the mixture and place in the fridge, turning every few hours. Marinate them for up to 6 hours.

  2. When you are ready to cook, heat a non stick saucepan on medium heat. Cook the papaya steaks for a few minutes on each side until browned and warm. Serve with whatever you choose. Potato bake is good, and salad. Enjoy.
